How it all Began....

Technically it all began back in 2007, only we didn't know something was beginning. I had just started working part time at Home Depot to fill up all my free time since graduating from college and Leatham was one of the managers there.  We were both in relationships at the time and only worked together for about 2 months before he quite to move to "the middle of nowhere" Nevada. He actually doesn't even remember having a conversation with me during the time we worked together. However I know we did because I distinctly remember  when he told me where he was moving to my thoughts were, "Why would you ever want to move out there?" If I only knew!

Fast forward five years. Through mutual friends that we had made working together Leatham and I reconnected on Facebook.  However, he was in Nevada living his life and I was in Salt Lake living mine. We started out just chatting here and there catching up on our lives over the past five years. Then on June 7, 2012 things changed.

I had just had a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day! Well actually it had been a rough couple weeks, but this day was the kicker. That night after hours of crying and frustration and a much needed pep talk from my dad Leatham messaged me just to say hi. We ended up texting and eventually talking on the phone until late that night. He let me vent and talk. I remember thinking that he would be the perfect distraction. He was 400 miles away and the only opportunity there was for friendship. Once again, if I only knew! He really did come back into my life when I needed him most, even if I didn't know it. From that day we began texting and talking on the phone everyday.

A few weeks after we started talking regularly Leatham was coming to Salt Lake for his sister's wedding so we were able to actually spend some time together. We met each other's families, went out to dinner, and watched the fireworks with friends. By the end of that weekend Leatham had decided he wanted to be more than just friends and to be exclusive. I, however, was still unsure. I wanted to make sure what I was feeling was real and he wasn't just a rebound to help me get over the rough time I had been going though the previous month.

Over the next week everything stayed the same. Leatham didn't pull away. We continued to text and talk as we had before. It really meant a lot to me that even though I had told him I was unsure when he asked me to be his girlfriend, he completely respected me and didn't allow it to change anything between us.  That was all I needed. The next weekend we met up in Wendover with some friends for a concert. While were there I told him I was ready for him to be my boyfriend. On July 1, 2012 we made it official and have never looked back!
